A sleepy volcano in Hawaii...

I'm afraid where I am I can only see some bins. Oh, and, sometimes, through an inadequately-frosted window, a man sitting on his toilet. I'll put up a picture if anyone would like to see that...

This is a great site, Zeph et al - I feel bad for not coming here earlier.

Can I be cheeky and bung in a plug for my own blog (a plog, if you will)? WARNING: I have dropped my pseud, and if you go here you will find out my actual name...

Plog duly noted, ringo (you will always be ringo to us:)) and that looks like a nice blog you have there.

Maybe we'll, erm, pass on the pic of the toilet man though..

Ringo--I believe you should feel fortunate that the glass is at least half frosted(and thus one might say no more than half full?)

Mac--Could Zeph be right--snow in Hawaii?

I don't know about Hawai but away yes-
is Mac in Oregon or Washington state?

Reminds me of childhood in Canada. Lovely.

This is Mauna Kea, which apparently means "white mountain" in Hawaiian, because it often has snow on it in winter. So there.

..and one so wishes one were so there...

Zeph has it right. This is snowy Mauna Kea, pic taken down the road from my house.

People drive up the mountain in pick-up trucks, load the back with snow, and drive down to the beach, where they throw snowballs and build snowmen.

So the memories of British Columbia and mountains and all that stuff when I was wee, are of naught? Cos it's a good pic but not my pic?

Thanks anyway cos I had some memories of ......

Offside,

Happily. Clan Millings may be loading up the outrigger, and paddling off to the mainland for good this year, but if I'm still here in July, a drink it is.

Well, we haven't booked anything yet, and at the moment it's a tie between Hawaii and California. So, that's a drink either way.

Caught in the Offside Trap!

See you there, or there.

a drink! Ah we know what it means as per offie's standards-
It's a drink of 6 bottles- believe me , been there once and
still smelling alcohol-

Hi there, Guitou, and thanks for perpetuating my reputation.

Speaking of drinks, I was at the Antibes Absinthe Bar over Christmas, not quite the same without the OtherStuffers (needless to say, I had a drink to their good health), but still very nice. They have a lovely jazz singer in the evenings now. Hope we get a chance to go together again sometime.

only if you insist and pick up the tab:-)
I must say that there is a mystic there- Absinthe bar in Antibes was quite an experience it's such a special place you do want to go back-

Nice misty mountain. Mac, Offie, Gui, if you're planning a debauch in California, I expect an invitation.

Welcome back, munni. If we can't decide and end up having the "debauch" between Hawaii and California, you might have to paddle. Are you up for it?

Anonymous said...

paddle? No. I will charter a yacht.

Hmmm, bit posh, are we? Tell us about your holiday in that place that doesn't have the interweb?

Anonymous said...

I was in Bombay, Zeph is posting my picture later. We do have the interweb there, only I was competing for computer time with a 12-year-old, so I barely got five minutes a day to check email.

Have you tried bribery? Chocolate, sweets, stuff like that?
