I looked, longingly, at the langoustines on the plate opposite. Luscious and moist. Delicious. Local. But I knew eating could be fatal. Shell-fish and me – we can’t ever meet. Just this once, I thought, so tempting, worth a night of illness.
Boringly, I didn’t risk it – organic salmon, delicious.

Afraid of a langoustine, mimi? You wimp.
Fugu, now that's risqué:

Nicely done, mimi.

I don't know, they look pretty terrifying to me:

How's tomorrow? Here in the Central Pacific, yesterday's pretty good so far.
I'm afraid of romanesque!

I thought I had the measure of all veg - but when they chucked fractals at me .....
Hi Mac,
tomorrow was OK, yesterday looks like it might be raining, but there's hope for today.
Wise decision Mimi. Though pineapples are also fractals, and they're not frightening, oddly enough.
Offie, "The fugu livers are said to taste as good as, or even better than foie gras". So someone has lived to tell the tale?
munni, apparently they've "found a way to make it safe" though they don't tell how... Plenty of fugu in the lagoon here, they're fascinating to watch and very shy. And best left alone in the end, I think.
mimi, don't worry that's just broccoli on acid.
That's wierd, Offie, cos that what my sister said when I served up Pyramid in cheese sauce.
Broccoli and cauli on drugs!
Sorry, I was in error. Pineapples are not fractals, but they do have a golden ratio. I think. I am confused.
Offie, "found a way to make it safe", indeed. Maybe you could try keeping a few at home and fatten them up like ducks.
Fattened up, munni? You mean like these guys?

Oops, sorry, can't do the blue link thing. Zeph taught me once, but I'm useless with the technical stuff.
Not even oysters? Poor you!
Good story!
munni - I am undone! I have told people that pineapples are fractals.
Mimi, the explanation I was given went right over my head, so I will not attempt to replicate it here. But I have just googled, and it seems that pineapples may be fractals after all:

Thank dog, Munni! I am no longer a scientific fake!
Did somebody say "pineapple"?

That's a lot of pineapple Offie. I now feel the need to go and find a field of peaceful haggis.
