Do they spring-clean clocks?
Perhaps spring clock cleaners are
a tad overwrought ...

time for spring to come
round again but nothing to
get wound up about?

why can't the whole world
change their clocks all at once?
no faffing about.

...because the US always used to turn the clocks forward exactly one week after the UK did, and I at least I could remember that. Now there seems to be no logic to the system anymore and it annoys me.

And yes, I know that's a pointless thing to rant about. I'm on the brink of turning into Mad-Lady-Who-Frightens-The-Neighbour-Kids.

A blog is a Place for Ranting, Munni (speaking as a mad lady who fails to frighten any kids at all).
Don't read this page, then, it'll only upset you:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time_around_the_worldI like Robertson davies's take on Daylight Saving Time: "the bony, blue-fingered hand of Puritanism, eager to push people into bed earlier, and get them up earlier, to make them healthy, wealthy and wise in spite of themselves"

Spring should be so good
But no, remember Hillsborough
I can't stop weeping

Not quite a haiku, but 20 years on and it feels like last week.

That's a great Robertson Davies quote, Zeph.

no turning clocks back
or forward in Tahiti
where time just stands still

Stop boasting O, we all know you live in paradise.

And that is a great R Davies quote, but it makes me grumpy as predicted. Venezuela and Nepal have the right idea, setting their own time zones as a "screw you" to the rest of the world.

I'm not boasting, I'm just happy you've all just come a little closer to me (by an hour).

And I don't think I've ever been to a "screw you" time zone, but I might give that a try someday.

I saw an extraordinary globe today that included a weird time ribbon that gave the northern hemisphere five months and the southern seven.

Where does that come from??
