50 word stories: Dream Territory -- by File

-

They took my father's land, which was my grandfather’s land, I have no land. They told me I couldn’t go back there anyway, that I have to stay here and they told me how to tell you this. My grandmother cannot sleep these days because they come into her dreams.

I really like this one, File. Echoes of so many oppressed peoples down the ages. Simple, but so resonant.

I still dream of inheriting my father's stirling estate...
orphaned...
kilt in cupboard with cobwebs...
no hope...
" They told me I couldn’t go back there anyway, that I have to stay here...."

Not wanting to hijack your thread File, but following on from that dialogue, we should all read this:

I often find Greer annoying, but her heart is obviously speaking in this article - Doc will tell us if he agrees with her.

not at all zeph this like breaking comment

I love GG, even tho she hit me over the head with a frying pan, but I know she plays games and has gotten a bit ornery since she was attacked by that lesbian and I don't know enough of the history of things Aus and Ab to judge really

that said, her piece is powerfully written and her intelligence and experience shine through in every word, who watches the watchmen, who are the real criminals, animals, atavists? dear GG has been known to skew her words artfully but I feel sure this reflects something like the truth, doc?

zeph, that's breaking comment as in breaking news not wind

Was that a virtual frying pan or a real one?

GG is right on the mark although (it seems) writing a lot from intellectual knowledge rather than first hand experience, but her sources are accurate and her analysis, whilst scary, bullseye.

File
great original post in that context and the convoluted process of delivery "....they told me how to tell you this." really nails it.

Zeph
GG usually has a lad to do the cooking and seldom handles an actual frypan in her tropical rainforest hideaway so it is said... though as a symbolic weapon it should be compulsory reading in modern classics:
GG parted my hair with a frying pan whilst I stroked her ego with my loose tongue... (everything I say is ammunition for her thesis Pt 1 - even if recanted in Pt 2)...

shoot,

yes, scary analysis, good to see tho that there is some litigation over responsibility in progress

some salty lines from the doctor of love today, it's getting on spring time there isn't it?

midwinters night dreaming practice only...

where once the young eye fed pleasure into a taught spring frame, now fatness around the wallet and no shame
make wintering by the window, praying for a lingering flower to own, reflective, and a journey into pain...

o dear, beware the song of Gello, remember the Metatron, perhaps think of it as a temporary period of girding?

DoctorShoot said...

off to gather a couple of dewars best to the girth...
cop you later...
