I really dig this one Z, let's wait until there's a tree-hugging world championships and bring the air-traffic controllers out on strike with us in sympathy of our oppressed Little Brothers (and Sisters)

Zeph,
liberate the bonsai trees and free the bonsai artists.
We should invite them to leave meditation for action:
the methodical culture of pakalolo.

Totally irresponsible attitude, Zeph. I'm very disappointed with you. These poor little things will never be able to fend for themselves out there, and will be set upon by gangs of bigger, older, stronger trees. There will be trouble. And we'll have to sort it out again, like this:

I've always had a slight problem with the idea of "dwarfing" a tree. It's so loft-dwelling - a bit like de-clawing a cat for your own convenience.

If you want to live with trees - go somewhere where you can see them in their full glory.

Poor little bonsais. Great i-ku.

Great clip, Offside:) it's true the bonsais might have to live in a special refuge, but I still think they'd prefer it...

I would like to train
my beautiful Bonsai trees
to piss on 'toy' dogs.

Free all bonsai trees
As well as all garden dwarfs
They'll have a party

Love your i-ku

The garden gnomes could barbecue all that fish they've been catching:) Glad you like it Mrs O.

Tony, are you a member of the Anti-Chihuahua League?

zeph, I have nothing against the chihuahua as such, although I don't like little dogs in general very much. Just meant that genetically-altering doggies worries me more than the ancient bonsai tradition...

I think both are pretty horrid (Chinese crested dogs? eugh!)

I do accept that bonsai is an art form in its original culture... doesn't stop me wanting to rescue all those poor oaks and beeches from being tortured by hamfisted westerners though.

Like tony, I don't like small dogs much - specially genetically small ones. Seems wrong. Just as poor oaks and beeches should be left to grow free.

Where would Macbeth have ended if Burnham woods had been bonsai?

In the cauldron?

Ha! Found it!

Jaysus, the stuff that lingers in the darker recesses of what's left of my brain... And what's even more incredible is that it's all on the net somewhere.

Sadly, i have no idea how to enlarge it, maybe copying and pasting into Photoshop and then using the magnifying glass?

PS: when I see a chihuahua or suchlike, the only thing that comes to my mind is... Goalkick! It has remained a fantasy, so far.

I've tried zooming in but it's blurry. Just buy the album, it's brilliant.

Yep, that's pretty frustrating Offie, completely impossible to read:) I guess it's funny though... With you on the goal kicks, absolutely.
