I love it... Nice design and what you say is so true...
I use to live in Paris and despair because I could hardly ever see the stars...
Totally the opposite here :-)

Cygnus and the Southern Cross

... aah, I'd be very impressed if you could name by sight the constellation in the dot of the I ...

Pff, dead easy, that's the Flying Cockroach.

:)

This came out of things you've said before about your Moorean skies, Offie - lucky Offsides, to have starlight. And I hate that sodium-orange night sky!

it's not like Hollywood where we see the stars all the time, not so bright though.

From my office, I can look out over the roofs of London to see the Palace of Westminster, the Wheel, and lots of other sights silhouetted against blazing reds of the setting sun, and I think I'm so lucky to work in London.

In Sweden the sky is alive with stars particularly during the mid-August meteor storms.

Best of both worlds, looking at others.

Great design and I love the i-ku, especially the last line. I'm hoping to find my own stars soon somewhere in Galicia or Asturias

It's a satellite moon ...
There's a sodium glare in the purified air...
And the girl in my arms is Mabel Figworthy and if she says "Oh really" one more time, I shall break her neck!

Congrats Zeph - the first of the i-kus to take me straight to Flanders and Swann.

Love it.

Wasn't intentional, Mimi, I assure you, blimey, Flanders and Swann, voices of one's childhood etc etc.

Tony, aren't you in Spain now? Or do you mean you're planning to buy?

This is lovely.

I was in the desert recently, and realised I'm afraid of the dark outside the city, and the vast, vast skies. An intriguing realisation to make.

Hi munni, nice to see you here.

The only "desert" I've been to is Joshua Tree national park (and another spot inland from San Diego. Stunning places, especially at nightfall.

And very sensible too, Munni, anyone who wasn't at least a little edgy in a pitch dark desert would be rather foolish, no?

zeph - yes I am. We're thinling that perhaps we've had enough of cities and are looking to sell up and move on. Besides, poor trey has never had a dog and I've promised her one.
