Light in the darkness,
beacon of optimism;
someone switched you off.

even sopranos
take time and money to find
the right register

Philosophy of deep pessimism over the future?
-godfather 2
-Our children
-Evita:)

Godfather 2 certainly, also the revived version of 'Chicago' - but mostly on TV the first series is the best, no?

desperate housewives
fear the season two blues too,
so it's not just you

I understand this may not help much

Cannot but agree.
Exceptions few and far between. Specially with telly.

Godfather 2 definitely an exception to the rule.

Can I be thick and ask what, exactly, you're talking about?

file said...

yes Offie, of course you can

Anonymous said...

Offie: what don't you understand?

Apart from life, the universe and everything? The answer to which is 42, but nobody knows why.

Thanks filou, I'm just not sure Marcela means TV series at all.

Zephirine said...

I think she probably does (partly) because I have reason to believe she's currently hooked on a series called The Wire... Marcela? explain?

didn't there always use to be a kid at school who had no tv?

what this thread's replies have shown is one can always read more than was said

superman 2 rules but will the next ikus' set be as good as these?

Anonymous said...

marcela: I WAS that kid at school with no TV. Didn't know about Daleks first hand til the revived series.

You haven't seen the wire, Zeph? Oh but you must. If you don't mind being a buccaneer and you have something like e-mule, you can look for a site called called tvunderground.

After that you should, of course find some way to buy the rest of the series

Unknown said...

has zeph seen the wire...?

yo, muddafucka, you gottta show a little respect to dat lady, tony man.
she know what she gotta do to go get herself got what she need, yo ...

we're currently in the market for series 4 so, please, no amateurs offering some sort of fx re-run of early episode - good though they undeniably are :)

i mean, we're doing sewious business here, zeph and i.

henrymoon - funny you brought sopranos up. don't know much about opera, but here's something zeph's detail dug up while going undercover on the ethernet:

I still don't have a T.V,but I have a toaster. So what are we poets , "Saltimbanks" or materialistic bourgeois?
My Radiola Transistor 1951 serie 2 is so much better than the Grundig 1948 anyway.Short waves, long waves, surfing is fun.

Zephirine said...

The Wire is da best, most def.

But Guitou, does having a toaster make you a materialistic bourgeois?

I used to want to be a saltimbanque in a caravan but oh, I got older. I bought things. Sigh.

guitougoal said...

Zeph,
about the toaster, I still don't know how to use it.
I can picture you, leaving in a caravan, a gipsy bandana on your head:

tony said...

I pasted the link
in breathless anticipation
"This site forbidden"

Zephirine said...

Oh, it's Salon.com being exclusive, they want you to register etc etc. Don't worry Tony, 's just a Sopranos/Wire/which is better? debate.

Madame O... like the perfect omelette? the one that was just the right consistency and folded in half to perfection...

Sigh...

MrsOffside said...

Lady Zephirine... or the one and only perfect cheese soufflé, one in a lifetime, you unfortunalty cooked just to try on your brain new oven, and eat all by yourself on a rainy sunday afternoon...

aaaaargh...

Unknown said...

omelette? souffle?

what's wrong with quiche i ask you

eggs are hard to beat

:)

The Egg is the perfect fast food. Comes complete in its shell with all components ready to go. Boil or poach - you only need water.

For the perfect omelette - you have to break eggs.

That's life.
